Chief Randy Bynum stated on June 15, Fort Payne Police Officers responded to a call at 601 Greenhill Blvd NW Apt B 201 to investigate a strong odor of marijuana. Fort Payne Officer’s knocked on the door of the apartment and a female, Melodi Nichole Crawford, age 32 answered the door. Officer’s ask if they could enter the residence and she stated yes. Once inside the residence the strong odor of marijuana along with the visual presence of smoke led officer’s to further investigation. Also present at the apartment were Bradley Dale Dobbs, age 31 of the residence and Joseph Ray Aglor, age 25 of Nashville. Officers also discovered a nine year old and a two year old present at the residence. Officer’s detained the three adult suspects and discovered several items of drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of marijuana. All three were charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Child Endangerment due to children being present while smoking Marijuana. The suspects were transported to the Fort Payne Police Department for processing and later transferred to the Dekalb County Detention Center. Dobbs and Crawford’s bond were $29,000 each because of the extra charge of Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor while Aglor’s bond was set at $26,000.
