The Fort Payne Police Department is accepting applications to fill the vacant position of Police Officer and to develop a roster of qualified candidates to fill future positions within the department. We offer various assignments within our agency to include: Patrol, Investigations, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Narcotics, and Special Response Team.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Alabama driver’s license.
Must have High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Successful candidates must FIRST be able to pass the basic physical agility test to attend the academy before being interviewed.
The Physical Agility test consists of: 1.5 mile run to be completed within 15 minutes 28 seconds, 25 sit ups to be completed within one minute, and 22 pushups to be completed within one minute.
